The official teaser trailer shown at Comic Con does indeed include Gambit in the Xmen 4: Origins film. Judging by the roar of the crowd at his appearance, I'm guessing Hollywood figured out Gambit fans were upset by his noted absence in previous films.

I always enjoyed his romance with Rogue but also his constant verbal fights with Wolverine- especially in the first cartoon series. It will be interesting to see what they do with his character in the film. You can see the "leaked" trailer here: http://www.comicbookmovie.com/news/articles/4882.asp
